March 23, 2010   04:54 pm

The Akon concert will go ahead as scheduled, Director of Platinum Entertainment Lasantha Samarasinghe told Ada Derana. The Jathika Bhikku Sansadaya today said that they vehemently protested the planned concert of Akon claiming that his music video insulted Buddhism.

The JHU affiliated Jathika Bhikku Sansadaya today addressing a press conference said that they were against the concert due to the fact that his music videos feature sexually explicit content, his alleged child molestation charges and a music video that portrays a Buddha statue. According to them a concert by such a person would contravene the traditions of Sri Lanka.
