SC grants leave to proceed with Ruwan’s FR

The Supreme Court today granted leave to proceed with the

newspaper Defence correspondent Ruwan Weerakoon. Weerakoon was arrested by the
TID while receiving treatment at a private hospital in
The petition states that Weerakoon was taken to the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) while he was receiving treatment for a heart ailment at a private hospital. The petition further denied the charge that he was working to topple the government under which charge he was arrested.
The hearing was scheduled for July 7 by the Supreme Court.
