Emergency passed in Parliament

The state of emergency was passed for another month in parliament a short while ago with 58 members voting for and five against. The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) and the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) voted against while the United National Party (UNP) members were absent from the House.
