April 7, 2010   04:45 pm

The specialist doctor from the Chest Unit of the National Hospital in Colombo who examined detained General (retired) Sarath Fonseka earlier re-examined him this morning and stated that the General’s health condition is satisfactory, says Military spokesman Major General Prasad Samarasinghe.

Gen. Fonseka was examined by the same specialist on Monday after several parties had accused the authorities of neglecting to provide him with urgently needed medical attention while being in custody at the Sri Lanka Navy headquarters premises in Colombo, pending two separate Courts Martial.
