Range Bandara attackers remanded

The five persons arrested in connection with the brutal attack on United National Party (UNP) candidate Palitha Range Bandara last evening have been remanded till April 23 by the Chilaw magistrate.

 

 

Mr. Range Bandara who was the UNP candidate for the Puttalam district at the just concluded general elections topped the preference vote list in the district. He was allegedly assaulted last evening by several persons including a Provincial Councillor due to an intra-party rivalry.

 

 

Palitha Range Bandara who underwent an operation is being treated at the Intensive Care Unit and his condition is reportedly stable.
