Geetha considering legal action

A veteran film actress defeated in the recent parliamentary polls says she is considering legal action against her own party leaders.

But she refused to reveal the names of the culprits.
“It was all done by my own party people. But unfortunately
it is difficult for me to reveal the names,” she said.
She was forced to send independent monitors to counting
centres as she was not allowed to appoint her own polling agents, Ms.
Kumarasinghe said.
There was nobody to monitor the counting process at the time her preferential votes were counted, according to the popular film star.
Ms. Kumarasinghe said she was threatened and harassed by the
regional leaders of President Rajapaksa’s UPFA since she launched the election
campaign.
“They only harassed their own party supporters. My cut outs
were burnt, I was not allowed to paste posters, I was threatened with death,
they instigated people to throw stones at me, they did everything possible
against me.”
