Prabhakarn’s mother arrives in India, deported to Malaysia

Elaborate security arrangements were made and suburban police commissioner, Jahangir, was himself present to oversee matters as there was a crowd of over 150 persons including MDMK general secretary Vaiko and Tamil nationalist movement leader P Neduraman, both vocal supporters of the proscribed LTTE, at the airport.
On May 18, 2009, the Sri Lankan government announced Prabhakaran had been killed while trying to escape advancing army troops in the north of the country and said his parents were found inside a camp for displaced people. – (PTI)
