Easy access for Sri Lankan students to Indian Universities at ‘The Great Indian Education Fair’ in Colombo

Colombo. Monday 19 April 2010. Prominent Universities, Colleges and Boarding Schools across India team up to showcase the strengths of Indian education at the largest ever gathering of Indian educational institutions in one grand exhibition in Sri Lanka this week. This mega exhibition - The Great Indian Education Fair - will be held from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 April 2010 at Sri Lanka Exhibition & Convention Centre.

 

 

This education fair is organised by the India-based AFAIRS Exhibitions & Media Pvt. Ltd with the support of the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka, Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, Indo Lanka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sri LankaConvention Bureau and PIO Council of Sri Lanka (GOPIO Sri Lanka).

Ltd, the chief organiser of the fair says, “The Great Indian Education Fair’ aims to enable people to gather greater knowledge about the Indian education system and allow greater interaction between institution representatives, parents and students in Sri Lanka. Conceived to meet a growing demand for education in India, the Fair will exhibit some of India’s prominent Universities and Colleges. The Great Indian Education Fair 2010 will feature some of the prominent institutions and universities such IIT, Symbiosis International University (Pune), Nirma University (Ahmedabad), Hindustan University (Chennai), Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences University (Maharsatra), KLE University (Karnataka), NITTE University (Mangalore) and many such others.

 

 

“We expect nearly 6000 visitors at this three day event to meet representatives from India’s finest and leading educational institutes from school level to colleges and universities. The exhibition comes to Colomboafter a successful tour across India,Malaysia and Thailand followed by Bhutanand Nepal”, Bolia added.

 

 

‘The Great India Education Fair’ is a unique education exhibition showcasing about 60 prominent schools, universities, colleges and educational institutions from India all under one roof. On offer will be a wide array of career options both at undergraduate and post graduate levels along with a range of new-age career programmes.

 

 

The Fair will offer quality education at affordable cost together with spot counselling by experts. A seminar on “Higher Education in India” will be conducted by leading experts. Parallely will also be a series of seminars on ‘Studying in India – Scholarships & Visa Regulation’ running concurrently by the High Commission of India and providing relevant information on studying in India.

 

 

The exhibition will be divided in two distinct sections - the Schools Section and the Universities, Colleges and Higher Education Section. The Schools Section will showcase premier residential schools from India offering primary, middle and secondary level education. The Higher Education Section will cater to the academic concerns of adult students in the 18 - 25 year age group.

 

 

Among the exhibitors will be Residential Schools offering Indian national curriculum of ICSE and CBSE along with the option of international curriculum of International Baccalaureate (IB) and IGCSE ‘A’ & ‘O’ Level of University of Cambridge International Examinations. There will also be Engineering Colleges, Medical Colleges & Dental Colleges, B-Schools & Management Colleges, Deemed Universities,Distance Learning Universities, Professional and Vocational institutions.
