Parting of ways for Ganeshan’s DPF and Ranil’s UNF?

The Democratic People’s Front (DPF) formerly the Western People’s Front (WPF) of Mano Ganeshan has stated that it is leaving the United National Front (UNF) coalition of the United National Party (UNP).
Mano Ganeshan failed to secure a place in Parliament at the recently concluded elections though his brother Prabha Ganeshan managed to enter Parliament.
The DPF decision follows the non-inclusion of Mano Ganeshan’s name in the UNF National List.
The UNF under UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe has failed to honour the written agreement entered into with the DPF when it entered into an alliance with the UNF, MP elect Prabha Ganeshan has reportedly told BBC’s Tamil service BBC Thamil Osai.

Meanwhile, Prabha Ganeshan has told the BBC Thamil Osai that the DPF had not taken any decision to support the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) government at the meeting of the working committee of the party. However he had added that certain members from the government have had discussions with the DPF.
The failure of the UNF to allocate a seat from the
