VIDEO: Emergency to be amended, ready to meet ‘Transnational Govt.’ challenge - GL

External Affairs Minister G.L. Peiris today said that certain elements of the Emergency law which will not have a detrimental effect on the security of the country will be scraped. He added that times have changed and accordingly two days have been allocated in parliament to debate and make the necessary changes.
Peiris speaking on the various elections held by the Diaspora asking for a separate state and the formation of a ‘Transnational Government’, said that the Government is ready to meet the challenge.
Adding that the relevant Ambassadors and High Commissioners will be instructed to take the proper measures.
