There is an uproar in Parliament over Rtd. Gen. Sarath Fonseka not being allowed to come to parliament, the Ada Derana parliament reporter confirms. DNA MP Anura Kumara Dissanayaka had criticized the fact that Army officers are making decisions about an elected Member of Parliament.
Dissanayaka had also demanded that the speaker make a
special statement regarding the situation. A.H.M. Asvar who was chairing the
session had ensured that he would convey this to the speaker. To this
Dissanayaka had protested adding that this needed to be addresses right now.
The UNP too had joined in the protest and currently a heated argument is taking
place in parliament.
