Gampaha district parliamentarian Mervyn Silva told the media at a briefing a short while ago that he will resign from his post as Deputy Minister of Media and Information. He was appointed last week sans a Minister being appointed. Yesterday parliamentarian Keheliya Rambukwella was appointed as the Minister.

Yesterday, Mervyn Silva was given the portfolio of Highways Deputy Minister and reports stated that he had resigned as Media Deputy Minister, while Mr. Silva maintained he was still the Deputy. But this evening Mr. Silva has told the media that he would bid adieu to the Media Ministers’ deputyship.
