Ministry to probe finances of sports bodies

The Sports Ministry is to conduct a systematic probe on financial dealings of all sports bodies registered under the Ministry.

 

 

The aim of the Sports Ministry is to bring repute and honour to the country. He does not intend to waste financial resources of the country in the name of sports, said Sports Minister C.B. Ratnayake while addressing the media at the Ministry office.

 

 

The Minister also said that all financial dealings will be conducted in a transparent manner in future. He added that however he had decided to examine recent financial accounting procedures of sports bodies as there were allegations against some of them.
