Flames in Kelanitissa fuel pipeline extinguished, says Fire Brigade

The fire that erupted on a fuel pipeline of the Kelanitissa power station has been brought under control, said the Colombo Fire Brigade. Five persons were injured by the fire that broke out this morning due to a fuel leakage in the pipe.

 

 

The leakage in the pipeline which carry fuel from the Kolonnawa refinery to the power station and the subsequent fire that broke out caused damage to seven houses at the Wadullawatte area, reported the Adaderana correspondent.

 

 

Repairs to the fuel pipeline are being carried out now, according to our correspondent.
