VIDEO: Norway-Lanka relations have been through rough times – Hattrem

Speaking at the Norway Day celebrations in Colombo, Norwegian Ambassador in Sri Lanka Tore Hattrem said that the relationship between Norwayand Sri Lankahas been through rough times. But he added that the foundations of the relationship have been long, wide and deep.

 

 

Hattrem speaking on the Victory Celebrations said that, for some it is a cause of celebration and for some it is also a reminder of the losses and the human suffering of war.

 

 

The post conflict phase has opened new opportunities to create just and lasting peace by finding a political solution that address the root causes of the conflict acceptable to all communities. It is encouraging to note the measure in this regard promised by the Government, he said.

 

 

My country will stand by Sri Lankaand its people, Hattrem said.
