Future UNP and country’s leadership will be from Hambantota, says Sajith

In the near future, the United National Party (UNP) will be transformed into a banyan and sarong, national dress clad party. UNPers will get a leadership which they can be proud of and which will alleviate their sufferings, says Hambantota District Parliamentarian Sajith Premadasa.

The son of former President Ranasinghe Premadasa said that in the near future the voters can be assured of the leadership of the UNP and that of the country from Hambantota.

This claim from Sajith Premadasa comes in the aftermath of several senior UNPers calling for a change in the current leadership of the party. The party reforms committee had arrived at a decision to hold a secret ballot for the leadership of the party if more than one name is proposed.

Sajith Premadasa apparently staking a claim for the UNP leadership, stated this while addressing a pocket meeting at Gajanayakegama in the Hambantota District.
