Digital technology leader, Samsung Electronics is putting a fresh thrust on its business in Sri Lanka by going in for aggressive product launches across its three business verticals - Consumer Electronics, IT and Telecom; strengthening its distribution and enhancing its brand visibility across the island nation. Redefining the home entertainment experience for consumers in Sri Lanka, Samsung today announced the launch of Samsung 3D LED TVs in the country.

 

 

The full line up of Samsung Full HD 3D televisions – LED 7000 Series will be available in the market this week onwards. Announcing the launch of Samsung 3D televisions in Sri Lanka, stated JungSoo Shin, President & CEO, Samsung South West Asia, “With the new Samsung Full HD 3D LED TV lineup, we are seeking to provide consumers with a completely new 3D home entertainment experience – an immersive and comfortable 3D picture quality that has never been experienced by consumers anywhere.  As a global market leader in colour televisions, we remain committed to introducing new categories of entertainment like Full HD 3D TVs for consumers in Sri Lanka as in other parts of the world.”

 

 

Samsung’s proprietary built in video processor along with 3D processor, 3D optimized panel and Frame rate conversion technology provide the best picture quality in 3D. Fluid motion, expanded natural colour and real Full HD 3D are perfectly  presented with the aid of Samsung 3D TVs’ Hyper Real engine creating an immersive viewing experience for consumers. For those who want to add the third dimension to their regular TV viewing, Samsung has included in its 3D processor an Auto-conversion technology that renders 2D content into 3D in real time – an industry first. Samsung is also seeking to create the 3D eco system in the country by launching its 3D Blu ray player BD-C6900 and 3D active glasses.

 

 

With built-in Ethernet connection and wireless-ready capabilities, the 2010 Samsung 3D LED TV lineup is ready to meet the growing consumer demand for “content without borders.” The upgraded Internet@TV feature now includes Samsung Apps providing consumers with an expanded, easy to navigate selection of content and applications from leading services like The Associated Press, Blockbuster, Fashion TV, Netflix, Picasa and YouTube amongst others. Applications can be downloaded and viewed all while watching TV. The entire range of 3D Full HD TVs being launched today include the upgraded Internet@TV with Samsung Apps. The AllShare feature in the Samsung 3D TVs allows users to wirelessly connect their TV with compatible mobile devices .This means that users can share movies, photos and music through a single device – the Samsung 3D TV.

 

 

Aesthetically, Samsung continues to build on its tradition of innovative design by introducing narrower bezels and brushed metal frames in silver and black – pushing the limits beyond the familiar black bezels of many HDTV’s. In particular, Samsung has developed a groundbreaking four-legged quad stand and a new “mystic earth” Touch of Color™ (ToC™) design scheme with chrome edging to better match a living room’s décor. Samsung 3D LED TVs are available in screen sizes between 40” to 55”, priced in the range between SLR 547000 and SLR 970000 giving consumers a choice of television models to fit their individual entertainment preferences and lifestyle. The Samsung BD Player is priced at SLR 90,000.

 

 

In keeping with Samsung’s commitment to the creation of innovative green technology that puts the Planet First TM, the 2010 Samsung 3D TV range is energy efficient and made using environmentally friendly processes.

 

 

In order to generate consumer interest in 3D televisions, the Company is launching a holistic marketing campaign that includes television advertising, print campaigns and outdoor, highlighting the wonder that 3D technology brings to the consumer’s home entertainment experience. “Based on our innovative 3D LED TV, LED TV and LCD TV launches today, we are looking at attaining market leadership in the Flat Panel TV market in Sri Lanka just as we do in 64 countries around the world.” states Mr. Shin.

 

 

To enhance its channel presence in Sri Lanka, Samsung has just appointed Soft Logic as its new distributor for Consumer Electronics products .Samsung Consumer Electronics products will now be distributed by Soft Logic as well as its existing partners Singhagiri and Singer Sri Lanka. Samsung Consumer Electronics products are now available to consumers in Sri Lankathrough an expanded channel of around 350 dealers.
