Abdul Cader, who was present along with a host of local cinema artistes said that he had been invited by President Mahinda Rajapaksa for the occasion. He was all praise for the IIFA awards ceremony being held in Sri Lanka and said that it portends well for the country’s tourism as well as other sectors.

When Adaderana asked Mr. Cader whether he had joined the Government, he responded by saying that his presence at this meeting was as good as his having joined the Government.

The parliamentarian from Gampola had earlier boycotted UNP activities and has been supportive of the government following disagreement with party seniors.
