Contractors who do not perform a proper job entrusted to them will be severely dealt with, said Deputy Highways Minister Mervyn Silva when the Adaderana correspondent asked him regarding the slipshod work done on highway projects by the contractors.

Contractors who do not do a proper job entrusted to them cannot be dealt with like in the ancient day where such people were impaled on stakes. But the Gampaha District Parliamentarian said that he would not hesitate to bind such contractors on the roadside posts which are aplenty until such time that they are legally dealt with.

Deputy Minister Mervyn Silva was participating at a religious ceremony to invoke blessings on the President who completes 40 years of his political life.
