Shiranthi Rajapaksa encharmed by beauty of Shimla

Shimla (PTI): While Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa
remained confined to Hotel Wildflower Hall at Chharabra, where he is staying,
his wife Shiranthi Rajapaksa enjoyed stroll and some shopping on the famous
“It is nice and homely to be in this town”, she told reporters.
“It is my first visit to Shimla and of course memorable one”, Shiranthi, who spent more than two hours on the Mall road said after picking up some woollens and half-a- dozen Kullu Shawls from Himachal Emporium.
She also purchased two long ladies Pullovers from a private show room and watched the heritage buildings constructed by Britishers when Shimla was the summer capital, with curiosity.
“Look at the Landmark”, she told one of her aides accompanying her while pointing towards the Gaiety Theatre, admiring the imperial structures.
Heavy security arrangements were made for her impromptu visit to the busy Mall road. – (PTI)
