The prevailing rainy weather and strong winds have caused partial damage some 30 houses in the Kandy District, says the Disaster Management Centre (DMC).

A minor earthslip has occurred near the ‘Gadol Bokkuwa’ on the Gampola-Nawalapitiya road but no casualties have been reported. Disruption to traffic has been cleared, adds DMC Assistant Director Pradeep Kodippili.

One hous in the Galle District and eight houses at Katuneriya in the Puttalam District have been partially damaged due to the rain and winds, adds the DMC.
