Don’t tarry on Pera-Nuwara Eliya road, warns DMC

The stretch along the Peradeniya-Nuwara Eliya road near the 42 kilometre post is prone to earth slips. The Disaster Management Centre advises motorists proceeding along the road to do so as quickly as possible without stopping in the area.
Due to the presence of a water fall motorists tend to break journey in the area. They are warned to be extra vigilant. This area has been first reported as an earthslip prone area in December 2009, says the DMC.
