The Police have rescued the abducted child for whose release the abductors had demanded a ransom of Rs. 450,000, a Buttala police spokesman said. The child had been found in the Ampara this evening (June 19).

The three year old boy from Buttala Muslim Village in the Buttala Divisional Secretariat area was allegedly abducted on Thursday by a person who had been living in the same house, according to the child’s parents.

Though a ransom was demanded for the release of the child, Buttala Police said they had rescued the child without any ransom being paid.
