Ven. Medhananda Thera resigned or removed?

Venenerable Ellawala Medhananda Thera says that he is unaware of what happened during the Jathika Hela Urumaya national convention held yesterday. He told Adaderana this morning (June 20) that he had not told the party that he wished to be relieved of leadership.

However, wishing success to those who had been appointed the venerable thera said he is in Mullaitivu on an archaeological study and that at no time had he cited time constraints and his archaeological work as being obstacles to his work in the party.
