ICC pays for World Cup office, says Nishantha

A new office for the 2011 Cricket World Cup has been set up utilizing a part of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) premises. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has directed that a separate office be set up for the event and it pays the rent, says SLC Secretary Nishantha Ranatunga.

However, Mr. Ranatunga said that SLC had not rented out premises though the ICC would pay for it. Instead it had utilized a part of its existing premises and refurbished it according to ICC guidelines. The ICC issues special guidelines regarding the World Cup office which we have to follow.

Answering a question by TV Derana 360 programme hostess, the SLC Secretary said it had successfully completed the refurbishment using some 78 per cent of the funds allocated by the ICC.
