Range Bandara and family meet President

June 22, 2010   03:39 pm

Puttalam District United National Party (UNP) parliamentarian Range Bandara and his family have met President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday.

Range Bandara had conveyed his gratitude to the President for intervening and providing him the necessary medical and other facilities after he was assaulted by another UNP candidate on April 10, states the President’s Office.

Parliamentarian Range Bandara was assaulted allegedly by another defeated UNP candidate and was admitted to hospital. He was later transferred to the National Hospital in Colombo.

Though Mr. Bandara had complained to the party regarding the incident, he claimed that the UNP had not done anything much.
