Asian Marketing Guru becomes Honorary Fellow of SLIM while Japan takes on AMF Presidency

Colombo: Hermawan Karthajaya who has co-authored several books with Prof. Philip Kotler was made an Honorary Fellow of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing at the recent Board meeting of the Asian Marketing Federation (AMF) in Bali, Indonesia in appreciation for his outstanding contribution to Marketing.
Accepting the status, Mr. Karthajaya said that he was deeply honored and happy at being made an Honorary fellow of SLIM. Current President of the World Marketing Association, Mr. Karthajaya is an eminent author and a public speaker in marketing studies.
Together with Prof. Philip Kotler he has co-authored “Re positioning Asia: From Bubble to a Sustainable Economy”, “Rethinking Marketing: Sustainable Enterprise in Asia” and “Attracting Investors” . He has also co-authored “Marketing 3.0” with Prof. Kotler which is a forthcoming publication.
Listed as one of The 50 Gurus who shaped the Future of Marketing, Karthajaya is also the one of the few Asians who addressed the American Marketing Association (AMA) Educators Conference.
Chairman of the Japan Marketing Association Takuya Goto was unanimously elected as the President of AMF for 2010/2011 while the Chairmen of the Hong Kong and Singapore Marketing Institutes were elected Vice Presidents. SLIM held the Presidency of the AMF in 2008 under the leadership of Prof. K.U. Kamalgoda.
