‘Bruno’ the sniffer nabs computer thief

A Doberman Pinscher dog has helped police officers in the Badulla district to apprehend a burglar who had allegedly stolen a computer worth around Rs. 53, 800 from a residence.
‘Bruno’ the 5 year old dog achieved this feat by following the sent from a place near the house where someone had urinated. The scent had led the sniffer dog to another residence more than one kilometre away.
Police had questioned a youth from that residence. On further questioning he had confessed to the stealing of the computer and its accessories and selling them for Rs. 15,000 in Bandarawela.
The arrest was made by Police Sergeant Karunadasa and constable Bandara with help of the Doberman which counts only two years in the police service.
