No major obstacles, Lanka perfect film location - Salman

Popular Hindi star Salman Khan today said that he did not
encounter any major obstacle regarding his latest film ‘Ready’ being shot in
Sri Lanka. This comment comes in the
backdrop of South Indian protests against Bollywood actors coming to Sri Lanka.
Salman added that he absolutely loved Sri Lanka when he came here for IIFA 2010 which
was held in Colombo.
He said he had no choice but to ignore the protests from the people of Indiawho opposed his coming here for IIFA. He said he hasn’t yet encountered any
major obstacles regarding his latest film.
The Bollywood film, “Ready” starring popular Indian actor
Salmaan Khan and South Indian actress Asin is being shot in Sri Lanka. The 30 day shoot will be
progressing in the country till 18 July. This film is directed by Anees Bazmee
and is produced by Rajat Rawail and Kishan Kumar.
He also highlighted that the intention of them coming here
is not political and they want to complete their work peacefully.
He said that Sri
Lanka will benefit in many ways including
the boost it will give the local film industry and the tourism industry.
He added that Sri Lanka is the perfect film
location because they get everything they need from sandy shores to high
mountains in one place. He said this was the main reason for choosing Sri Lanka for this film among many other
countries including Mauritiuswhich was where the film was initially supposed to be shot.
Salman added that it is easier to work in Sri Lanka because the people of
both nations and the two cultures are similar in many aspects.
He went on to thank Member of Parliament, Namal Rajapakse
for giving them all the support they needed for both IIFA and the film
shooting.
