The Sri Lanka Navy has been successful in rescuing two Somalians from a boat in distress about 80 knots away from the Galle harbor.

Officers from Galle’s southern navel base have been credited for the rescue of the damaged boat and the two Somalian nationals who were stranded says police spokesman.

Furthermore the rescued boat and the individuals in question have been handed over to the Galleport police by the navy. However investigations are to be carried out by the police as to how the boat crossed over into Sri Lankan waters.
