By attempting to do last things first, Wimal Weerawansa has messed up the approach of opposing the UN panel on Sri Lanka, said Democratic National Alliance (DNA) Parliamentarian Vijitha Herath, this afternoon.
Speaking to the media at the DNA office at Rajakeeya Mawatha in Colombo 7, Mr. Herath said the DNA too opposed the special three-member committee appointed by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon. However there is a method of protesting against it.
The protest movement should be like rising wave with the participation of the people in protest. Only the climax should be a fast unto death, added Mr. Herath.
Wimal Weerawansa’s recent protest has compounded the situation and the country has to face the consequences. It has made the United Nations’ resolution stronger against Sri Lanka. Politicians should be vary of deceiving the masses by cheap actions like these, said the Gampaha District DNA Parliamentarian.
