Spain won
the 2010 FIFA World Cup after beating Netherlandsin the 116th minute at the FIFA World Cup played in South Africa a
short while ago.
Spain andNetherlands, both seeking to
win the World Cup for the first time, were locked at 0-0 in Sunday’s final at Soccer Cityin Johannesburg, South Africa. Spain shot a goal
at the 116th minute when extra time of 30 minutes was granted as the
scores were 0-0 at the allocated time.
The person responsible for bringing the World Cup to South Africa,
Nelson Mandela made a brief appearance ahead of the final, accompanied with his
wife Graca Machel. They were driven on to the grounds amidst a thunderous
applause from the spectators.
Mandela who turns 92 next week cancelled his appearance at
the June 11 opener after his 13-year-old great-granddaughter died in a car
accident on the eve the tournament.
