Power pirates nabbed in Akkaraipattu

In an early morning raid, 83 persons have been taken into custody for illicitly tapping electricity supply form main power lines at Akkaraipattu in Ampara, Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) officials said.

The raid was carried out this morning (Sunday) by CEB officials with the assistance of the Police. Several complaints were monitored before the raid was carried out, the officials said.
