Some 3,000 persons suspected to have had links with the Tigers and undergoing rehabilitation have been permitted to leave the centres to any place of their choosing, Commissioner for Rehabilitation Brigadier Sudaththa Ranasinghe told Adaderana this afternoon.

Those undergoing higher studies, some suffering from liver ailments and cancer, widows, those who had lost their entire families and a few children were among those permitted to leave the centres after rehabilitation, said the Brigadier.

Brig. Ranasinghe added that the remaining 7,980 persons in the rehabilitation centres will be permitted to leave as soon as the process is completed.
