Buddhist monks continue death fast

The death fast started by Buddhist monk rev. Ampitiye Sumanarathna continues to the second day. Two other monks have also joined the death fast that was started in the Madakalapuwa area yesterday.

 

The head monk of Sri Mangalaramaya, Madakalapuwa, rev. Ampitiye Sumanarathna started a death fast yesterday, requesting the president to give solutions to the hardships the Sinhala Buddhist residents of the Eastern and Madakalapu area face.

 

In a letter addressed to the President, he claimed that the main issue in this are is that there is no Sinhalese representative in the political offices of this are and that there are no Sinhalese workers in government offices.
