Silvermill introduces a nourishing product range

S.A Silva And Sons Lanka Pvt Ltd, which is a subsidiary of Silvermill Holdings, a company certified for ISO 9001 and H.A.C.C.P and British Retail Consortium Standards, recently introduced a range of breakfast meals, namely ‘Tropical Fruit Combo’, ‘Fruit & Nut Breakfast Bar’ and ‘Fruity Nut Breakfast Crunch’, an instant lunch and dinner product, plus a snack and dessert range known as Nugah Mix, Tropical Fruit Cocktail, Sweet Mango Bites, Sweet Pineapple Bits, Spicy Mixed Vegebite and Vegebite Del are now available in supermarkets.

Speaking about the new entrants, Chief Operating Officer of Silvermill Holdings Ltd, Dinesh Silva said “Due to the busy schedules of the majority of our people, they miss out on enjoying a balanced healthy meal, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. Another known fact is that many mothers and school children are experiencing busy lifestyles. This prompted us to come up with a product range catering to this growing need”.

Heavy focus on research, development and Sri Lankan food consumption patterns prompted the company to introduce these products to the market. This provides a direct link with the farmers, empowering them to produce better stock and gain a feasible income” he explained.

“Tropical Fruit Combo” is a blend of preserved fruits including pineapple, papaya, dried coconut, dates, raisins, nuts and watermelon. The product is recommended with yoghurt for a healthy breakfast, increasing ones metabolism. A significant fact is that this product is recommended as an inbetween snack for those maintaining a sugar free diet and even for diabetic patients, provided the quantity is restricted to the individual pack of 30 grams. “Fruity Nut Breakfast Crunch” is a mixture of toasted rice flakes, plantain, dried coconut, cashew nuts, water melons and papaya, which facilitates both a high protein and healthy fiber diet. The “Fruit and Nuts breakfast bar” is ideal for school children, busy executives and even active moms; this is an instant energy booster, providing the sustenance of honey and fruits, which is a daily need for the human body, according to research.

A market first, the instant Lunch and Dinner product range introduced by Sivermill, comprising a healthy meal of rice and vegetables, supplying the required daily nutrition within a matter of minutes. The product excludes Mono Sodium Glutamate (M.S.G) or any added food substitutes. In addition, Silvermill introduced an instant coconut sambol product, prepared by simply adding hot water; this too is available at a reasonable price in the market.
