Lakshman Seneviratne gives evidence at SF Court Martial

The first Court Martial against General (retired) Sarath Fonseka resumed today (August 10) at 9.30 am. Minister Johnston Fernando and United National Party (UNP) Parliamentarian Lakshman Seneviratne were scheduled to give evidence.


Mr. Seneviratne gave evidence as the third witness but as Gen. Fonseka’s counsel was not present he was not cross examined, said Colonel Duminda Gamage of the Directorate of Media.


Trade Minister Johnston Fernando who was to give evidence as the second witness was not present, hence his evidence was not recorded.

The next hearing was fixed for Thursday, August 12, said the Directorate of Media. The first Court Martial against gen. (retired) Sarath Fonseka is for his alleged involvement in political activities while still being in service as the Sri Lanka Army Commander.
