Laugfs Gas holds Invitation Cricket Tournament for Bulk Customers

Laugfs Gas held the ‘Laugfs Gas Invitation Cricket Tournament’ for its valued bulk customers at the Oval grounds in Colombo recently. The tournament was organized by the management of Laugfs Gas, especially targeted at its industrial customer base in the ceramic industry, with the intention of creating stronger customer relationships and building better understanding.

Five teams from the ceramic industry, along with a team from Laugfs Gas stepped on to a level playing field to battle it out for the coveted Laugfs Gas Invitation Cricket Trophy. The event was graced by the Chairman of Laugfs Gas W.H.K. Wegapitiya; Managing Director Thilak De Silva, CEO Mohan Perera and the Senior Management of all the companies that took part in the event.

Speaking about the event, the Managing Director of Laugfs Thilak De Silva said, “This

tournament was organized with the intention of further strengthening our good relations with our bulk customers whilst also creating space for our employees to interact with them on a more personal level, thereby building a stronger bond. This is the first time that an LPG company has organised an event of this and & we are extremely pleased that it was an immense success.”

The matches were played amidst the cheers of spectators from all six companies - namely Piramal Glass, Noritake Porcelain, Dankotuwa Porelain, Royal Fernwood Porcelain, Art Decoration(Pvt) Ltd., and Laugfs Gas. A live band, DJ music, and refreshments were part of the day’s festivities, along with a team of cheerleaders adding to the excitement.

Six very competitive 10-over matches were played that day, with Laugfs Gas being knocked out in the semi finals by Dankotuwa Porcelain who went on to play a very exciting final against Art Decoration (Pvt) Ltd. The ultimate winners of the tournament were Dankotuwa Porcelain team.

Going by the success of the event the management at Laugfs Gas has decided to make this an

annual event.
