An Advance Level student of a leading girls’ school in Kandy had been found tied to a chair in a secluded area of the school this morning (August 11), say police.

The student had arrived at the school for her Advance Level examinations and gone missing as the exams started. Worried colleagues had informed the education authorities about the missing student. While the examination had progressed, the officials had mounted a search for the missing student.

After a search of about an hour, she had been found tied to the chair. The officials had provided an hour of extra time for her to complete answering her papers and had refrained from questioning further.

Adaderana Kandy correspondent states that the female student is the daughter of the principal of another school in Kandy.
