Lankem Agro celebrates Champion’s Night a “Decade or Supremacy”

The Agrochemical Division of Lankem Ceylon PLC organized its annual Dealer Convention at the Cinnamon Grand Colombo recently. Celebrating the undisputed market leadership over the past decade, the grandeur event was held under the theme ‘Decades of Supremacy”.


Lankem Agro has introduced a range of 35 agrochemical products in the reaching out, to the hearts of Sri Lankan farmers. The most popular herbicides are Nominee, Roundup, Satunil and M50. The insecticides range includes several specialty products Evisects and Selecron, while Ridomil and Tilt represent the leading fungicides. Due to the growing demand and awareness among local farmer community, Lankem carries out continuous research and development activities to introduce specialized crop protection products, which are safer chemicals for the end users.


Briefing about the future activities Damith Vitharana, Director/COO Lankem Ceylon PLC said, “Our Company has a vision to empower the farmers through continuous innovation and introduction of sustainable products to the local market. Hori, Managing Director of Kumiai Chemical Industry Co Ltd, Japan was the chief guest at the event while representatives of Dupont, Monsanto, FMC and Syngenta Switzerland were also present to acknowledge the service of the Champion dealers, adding a significant importance to the event.

Dissanayake proprietor of Green Agrochemicals, Pothuhera and D. Wimalasekara proprietor of Danahara Enterprises, Hingurakgoda won the first and second runners up awards respectively. Technical Sales Representatives were also appreciated for their performance and dedication rendered. The winners were applauded by S.D.R. Arudpragasam Deputy Chairman of Lankem Group of Companies. Indika Saman Kumara was honoured as the best Technical Sales Representative while R.A.S.K. Ranamuka and S.B.G. Hakmana received the first and second runners up prizes respectively.
