Committee formed for new UNP constitution

The United National Party’s Working Committee has decided to formulate a new constitution for the party. A committee has been appointed to incorporate the reforms proposals into the new constitution, says General Secretary Tissa Attanayake.
A committee consisting of UNP legal experts including K.N. Choksy, Wijedasa Rajapaksha, Tilak Marapona and Roland Silva are included in this committee. It will be chaired by Wijedasa Rajapaksha while K.N. Choksy will act as its advisor.
Meanwhile, UNP spokesman Gayantha Karunatileke said a discussion will be held among UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, Deputy Leader Karu Jayasuriya and Hambantota District Parliamentarian Sajith Premadasa regarding several issues in the party.
