VIDEO: DNA MPs assaulted a police officer - Police

The DNA MPs were arrested because they assaulted a police officer, Senior DIG in charge of the Southern Province Kingsley Ekanayake told Ada Derana. He added that the detained MPs will be produced before courts today.

Police sources further claimed that after police arrested two protestors who attacked police with stones at the protest in the evening today in Galle, the DNA MPs had come to the Galle police station to negotiate their release. DIG Ekanayake told Ada Derana that during a heated argument the DNA MPs had allegedly assaulted a police officer leading to their arrest.
