First court martial against Fonseka to reconvene today

The first court martial against Rtd. General Sarath Fonseka is to reconvene today. Fonseka is accused of taking part in active politics while serving in the army. The Army Head Quarters have informed that the testimonies of all witnesses from the prosecution party of the case were recorded yesterday. 

 

 

Yesterday, Fonseka’s lawyers were not present and they have been requested to be present today. The Army Head Quarters have informed that the court martial will meet at 9.30 a.m. today at the Navy Head Quarters where Fonseka is being detained.
