Three Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Parliamentarians, a Provincial Councillor and the Eastern Unemployed Graduates Association head Jeyaraja have been issued notice to appear in court for holding an unlawful demonstration.

The batticaloa Magistrate’s court issued this notice when it took up the report filed by Kathankudy police accusing TNA Parliamentarians Pon Selvarasa, P. Ariyanendran, C. Yogeswaran and Eastern Provincial Councilor Thurairatnam along with Jeyaraja of unlawful assembly.

The protest demonstration was held in the Batticaloa town on August 11 by the unemployed graduates’ union.
