Duo with counterfeit money arrested

Two suspects with over one hundred thousand rupees worth of counterfeit notes have been arrested by the Pindeniya Police after they fled a fuel station subsequent to paying with forged money.

 

The arrest was made at Narangoda after workers of the fuel station had called the 119 Police emergency number and complained of the two individuals paying for fuel using a fake two thousand rupee note.


The PindeniyaPolice have also managed to recover 38 fake thousand rupee notes and 31 fake two thousand rupee notes stashed by the suspects who are residents of Ratnapura and Homagama.
