Local BTI to be released today

Deputy Minister of Health, Mahinda Amaraweera said that steps have been taken to release the locally manufactured BTI bacteria in three selected areas of the Colombo District today.

 

 

He also said that the BTI bacteria which is designed to combat dengue mosquitoes is scheduled to be released again next Wednesday. About 500 liters of the bacteria are reported to be used in this program.

 

 

The Deputy Minister also mentioned that 30,000 liters of locally manufactured bacteria and another 30,000 liters of bacteria to be imported from Cuba will be released in chosen parts of the country.
