The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) committee appointed to inquire into the incident where former Deputy Minister Mervin Silva had allegedly tied a Samurdhi officer on to a tree, has concluded recording statements from witnesses.

The committee is in the process of compiling the final report based on these recorded statements, said a committee spokesman.

The three man commission has recorded the statement of Parliamentarian Mervin Silva as well. The final report is to be handed over to President Mahinda Rajapaksa within the next week, the spokesman told Adaderana this morning.
