Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) leader V. Prabhakaran’s mother Parvathi Ammal is still being treated at the Valvettithurai Hospital and her health condition is fluctuating, Tamil National Liberation Alliance’s (TNLA) M.K. Sivajilingam told Adaderana this morning.

Speaking exclusively to Adaderana this morning, TNLA General Secretary Sivajilingam said the Ms. Parvathi who had been held at the Panagoda Army Camp for a long period has suffered health wise. Her condition has been aggravated due to her being paralysed for a long period.

Currently she is consuming only liquids with an occasional solid food diet. Doctors treating her at the Valvetithurai Hospital say that a vast improvement cannot be expected in her as she is more than 80 years of age, said Mr. Sivajilingam.

However, Mr. Sivajilingam said that a unique feature was that around 200 to 300 visitors, mostly Sinhalese persons touring the north visit Mrs. Parvathi Ammal daily.

“I visited her on the 20th of last month and will be visiting her within the next two days. We are doing everything possible for her and are in constant touch over the phone with her children overseas,” added Mr. Sivajilingam.
