With the promise of reforms being carried out in the United National Party (UNP) within the next two months, several moves are already in place, sources close to the party told Adaderana this morning.

Following these moves, Gampaha District Parliamentarian Ruwan Wijewardena is to be entrusted with leading the UNP’s Jathika Yovun Peramuna or National Youth Front which was earlier under the care of Akila Viraj Kariyawasam.

Meanwhile, former People’s Alliance strongman and SLFP (M) leader and a one time Media Minister Mangala Samaraweera, who dissolved his party and obtained UNP membership is to take over the party’s newspaper and the website under his ambit.
