Four Acting Ministers to be sworn in today

Due to the absence of four Cabinet Ministers their Deputy Ministers will be appointed as Acting Ministers to their respective Ministries by the Prime Minister DM Jayaratneat his office today, the Prime Ministers Office told Ada Derana.
The Acting Ministers are scheduled to be sworn in by the Prime Minister at 11.30 am today. The absent Ministers are part of President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s delegation to the United Nations summit in New York.
It was reported that Deputy Minister Geethanjana Gunawardena will be appointed as Acting External Affairs Minister in the absence of Professor G.L. Peiris while Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister John Senawiratna’s Deputy Dilan Perera will serve as Acting Minister of the said Ministry.
Deputy Minister SM Chandrasena is scheduled to be sworn in as Acting Irrigation and Water Resources Minister for Nimal Siripalade Silva. Deputy Minister Weerakumara Disanayake will sit as Acting Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development in place of Minister Douglas Devananda.
